Affeldt hits the ground running with new partners

Tuesday 20. May 2008 - Affeldt Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH has been at home in the packaging industry for almost 40 years.

This started with the construction of an apple-sorting machine for the apple growers in Schleswig-Holstein’s Elbmarsch near Elmshorn. Today the business is known across the world in the agricultural and fruit-growing industry for its range of machines for the weighing and packaging sectors.

Barely a year ago, Affeldt was sold by its founder, Jörn Affeldt, as part of a planned handing over of the business. The new partners, Martin Köppert and Roland Kordt have taken over a successful and globally-active business.

The partners will be subjecting the business to further intensive development. For the construction and development divisions, an investment has just been made in an ultra-modern 3D CAD system. The development of machines has been separated from the bespoke construction business and is now being run as a separate entity. New development projects have been started and others are in preparation. For Affeldt’s customers, this means that, in future, improved machines with even greater cost-effectiveness will be available. In conjunction with the tried and tested after sales service from the domain of the packaging specialists from North Germany, this will be of genuine advantage to customers. The Affeldt sales and service network will be more densely concentrated worldwide. This way, we will penetrate future growth markets by means of our highly-developed products and gain new customers.

So Affeldt has given itself a lot to do for the future, if it is to supply the worldwide market for its area of expertise with cutting-edge technology Made in Germany.
