Newtec launches into stretch hooding!
Monday 19. May 2008 - newtec bag palletizing is making a big splash by launching its own stretch hooding machine, adding to its range of automatic bag palletizers on the market.
With this addition to the range, newtec is improving its offering in order to provide an even better response to demand for complete lines.
Among the various overpacking techniques available, newtec has opted for the stretch hooding technique because it offers undeniable advantages over competing technologies such as stretch wrapping or shrink wrapping. In particular, stretch hooding uses the elasticity of the film to keep the load in place and means that the oven or shrink frame required for shrink wrapping can be dispensed with.
The pallet stretch hooding machine enables the protection and stabilisation of palletized loads by the application of an elastic hood on 5 sides.
The hood is manufactured from a polyethylene tubular film with a gusset. It is cut to the length corresponding to the measured height of the pallet.
The hood is mechanically stretched to then be released over the load.
This method of hood application is particularly important because it does not use any heat source (the hood is not shrunk) and at a clearly lower operating cost than that of shrink wrapping.
The pallet covering machines consist of 3 models from 60 to 120 pallets an hour.
