New scanning spectro aimed at power users launched for Drupa

Thursday 15. May 2008 - Centurfax are showing for the first time their new low-cost scanning spectro "Sprint", launched intially at the Sign and VLF market, but will also be available in Q4 for proof and press-control.

A spectrophotometer is an essential tool for any printer who need to match colour, either in-house or to ISO standards. With the drive for quicker, cleaner and more accurate proofing and printing then the demand for spectros and profile making software is due to rise.

An exclusive world-wide distribution agreement has already been agreed with the USA’s leading software house for Sign and VLF, ScanvecAmiable Int (SAi). SAi will be looking to appoint new dealer channels during Drupa.

Sprint is unique in that it brings the power of “speed” to low-cost spectro control. Until now if users wanted a low investment then speed would be the sacrifice, now with Sprint users can have both – speed and lower cost.

Sprint achieves this through a patented “wide-mouth” scanning head that is capable of scanning multiple colours at the same time, giving speeds of 6-10x faster than the competition.

Integration is possible into any profile making system or Sprint can come packaged with its own profile making software “Snap” – from ScanvecAmiable Int (SAi).

Simple USB device connection to Mac or PC make light work of integration.

Initial launch for Drupa is aimed at “large format printers” and the “sign” market, where traditionally colour control has been overlooked because of the difficulties involved. Sprint solves these problems by providing a speed, accurate and simple to use solution.

During Q4 of 2008 Sprint will be available to the proof and press control market.
