Finishing & Screen Printing

Versatile and Economical

Tuesday 13. May 2008 - At Drupa 2008 we present to you "Excellence in Paper Processing" in ten different exhibition halls. We will showcase new solutions in the segments of Digital Printing and web finishing. The new generation POPP7 will show the direction for finishing of wider webs and with the introduction of "huncolor" we mark the trend to color, which is gaining popularity in the transactional and transpromotional segments.

Fast moving digital revolution
Digital printing gains further market share from all printed products. Increased speed, wider webs, new printing materials, and color shape the fast moving digital revolution. Many analysts and pre-Drupa press releases indicate that this year will be the break-through for ink-jet technologies. According to some, the technology will soon match offset printing in terms of quality and cost-effectiveness for shorter runs.

POPP6 and the appreciation of quality
The new digital trends are also a challenge for finishing. Only with integrated pre- and post- finishing solutions can the new digital printing lines show their full potential. Well suited to that challenge is the new Hunkeler machine generation POPP6. The new modules combine reliable high speed performance with processes that are easy on the paper. Again, Hunkeler fulfils the demand for quality finishing in the full color world. All the outstanding attributes of quality, flexibility, and economics have been combined in the new quality brand of “huncolor”.

More color even in transactional printing
Higher speed, new finishing options, and more economical printing systems open the door for full color and new quality standards in the transactional printing segment. Within this segment POPP6 offers new applications, and new attractive business models for “transpromotional” applications.

New impulses for Newspapers-on-demand
Innovations are also visible in the Newspaper-on-demand market. The Hunkeler POPP6 Drum Collator DC6 brings a significant improvement in performance and efficiency with the production speed of 150 m/min for newspaper finishing. The same system can also be used for the production of books and brochures, resulting in economical utilization around the clock.

Generation POPP7 sets new standard
With the new machine generation POPP7, featuring a web width of 670 mm, Hunkeler once again signals its commitment to be the leading company for innovative pre- and post-processing solutions. Hunkeler and their printer partners will showcase the new machine generation at their DRUPA 2008 booth
