New closure concepts at the INTERPACK

BERICAP will show a variety of new closure concepts at the INTERPACK for the food, beverage and chemical industry.

Friday 02. May 2008 - BERICAP will show a variety of new closure concepts at the INTERPACK for the food, beverage and chemical industry.

Light weighting of closures is the latest trend due to increase of resin costs. At the same time users of plastic closures need to save costs. Light weightening is the major contribution of BERICAP to sustainability of packaging, respectively the saving of non-renewable resources.
With the SuperShorty closure and the HexaLite range of light weight closures for new light weight PET neck finishes, BERICAP is committed to sustainable packaging for lower plastic resin consumption and lower green house gas emissions.

The BERICAP SuperShorty crown or CSD design for carbonated beverages combined with neck PCO 1881 offers up to 2 g weight saving. The range of HexaLite closures for still water fits on the lightweight neck standards for water 26 and 29/25. Light weight closures for PCO 1881 (28 mm) and sports caps complete the product portfolio (picture 1: SuperShorty Beer; SuperShorty group printed).

BERICAP also presents the lightweight, 2-piece flip-top closure solution Galileo II for edible oil and vinegar. Galileo II fits on the new 26/21 mm light weight neck finish thus offering remarkable weight reduction, up to 1,8 g compared to the adoption on the traditional 29/21 mm predecessor (picture 2: Galileo_Castelo).

Furthermore BERICAP will show its latest developments for the non-food and chemical industry.

The DIN closure family for blow moulded containers available with different equipments as e.g. ANTIGLUG pouring device or different GORE venting membranes is offered for all thread profiles according DIN 45, 55 and 60 in a uniform, very attractive design for all sizes. A child-resistant version is offered for the DIN 45 and DIN 60 closures and is certified according ISO 8317. Furthermore integrated spout solution are available (picture 3: DIN Spout; DIN closure family).

The P2 REL ALU greatly reduces solvent permeation, leading to an extension of the shelf life of the product, especially at higher temperatures. The P2 REL ALU closure is successfully used by well-known customers in Europe (picture 4: P2 REL ALU).

Other well-proven closure concepts with application in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry have been further improved and equipped with new features.

BERICAP is a globally operating manufacturer of plastic closures with meanwhile 20 factories in 18 countries across the world. Supported by 4 R&D centres in France, Germany, Spain and Turkey, BERICAP is particularly committed to development and innovation in plastic closures for its customers success.
