Rexam strengthens position in healthcare packaging and medical devices
Thursday 01. May 2008 - Rexam completed the acquisition of O-I Plastics, a leading US manufacturer of rigid plastic healthcare packaging and plastic closure systems in August this year.
The acquisition is consistent with Rexams strategy to strengthen its positions in growth areas and has transformed Rexams Plastic Packaging business, creating leading positions in two important plastic packaging segments: Healthcare Packaging and Closures.
Rexam already had extensive operations in healthcare packaging through its Pharma business in Europe, the US and India. The acquisition is an excellent fit in terms of, technologies, innovation, end use applications and geography and will enable us to deliver even further value to our customers.
