Thursday 01. May 2008 - The 2008 edition of ITMA Asia in combination with CITME promises to be the largest textile machinery show to date. As a prominent textile machine manufacturer with a major presence in the Chinese market, Shima Seiki places high expectations on this fusion of two major textile shows, and considers the exhibit an excellent opportunity to re-assert its reputation as the leader in flatbed knitting machine technology.

As is the case in recent years at international exhibits, the Shima Seiki booth will feature a polarized presentation catering to all types of knitting needs, from WHOLEGARMENT technology to conventional shaping technology. For conventional shaping, the SSG- and SIG-series computerized machines will focus on such features as DSCS digital stitch control, RapidReturn R2Carriage and WideGauge capability for supporting a wide range of gauges on a single machine. The WHOLEGARMENT portion will showcase the latest flat knitting technology for handling current and future production needs specific to the Chinese market. Regardless of the product category, emphasis will be placed upon high-quality, productivity and cost-performance.
No matter what the production method, it is clear that higher levels of product planning and design quality are becoming increasingly important issues for any market. In that sense, it could be said that the SDS-ONE design workstation is the most important piece of knitting technology Shima Seiki has to offer. With full planning and design capability combined with the advantages of super-realistic virtual sampling, SDS-ONE is the key to a complete knit production system that covers the knit supply chain from yarn design to retail promotion. At ITMA + CITME 2088, Shima Seiki will introduce the latest version of SDS-ONE with new and improved software that is easier to use and meets market needs.
Demonstrations on SDS-ONE will be held on a regular basis during the exhibit.
All-new models for both knitting machine and design system are scheduled for introduction at ITMA Asia. Details are still unavailable at this time.
Also on display at the Shima Seiki booth will be a large collection of over 100 knitwear samples that reflect the latest trends and techniques, created by designers in both Italy and Japan.
