Monday 14. April 2008 - • New black-and-white additions to the imagePRESS range • Offered in multiple models providing different speeds and configurations • Expected to ship towards the end of 2008

Following the success of the imagePRESS range of digital colour presses, Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced a new range of imagePRESS monochrome engines, which are expected to start shipping towards the end of 2008.

Designed for the commercial print, CRD, transactional and print-for-pay sectors, the new engines will be an extension of the imagePRESS’ reputation for quality and productivity in the black-and-white production print arena, and will be available in a range of different speeds and configurations.

The imagePRESS monochrome presses will be running at 135 A4 pages-per-minute (ppm). Like the digital colour range, they have been designed to create professional-looking documents, including on-demand perfect bound books and will feature a number of finishing and output options, including booklet trimmer, paper folder, saddle finisher, high capacity stacker, professional puncher, and document inserter.

“This new, innovative black-and-white engine from Canon is further evidence of our commitment to the Professional Print industry”, said Antony White, European Marketing Product Manager, Canon Europe. “It demonstrates our investment in research and development, and highlights our desire to help our customers take advantage of business development opportunities in the digital print market across Europe, by providing complete printing solutions.”
