WHAT’S IN STORE AT LABELEXPO AMERICAS 2008?

Thursday 20. March 2008 - Labelexpo Americas is back this year with a host of new feature areas. It’s all happening on the new dates of September 9 -11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL near Chicago.

The new features reflect the latest developments in the industry and have been created to satisfy the demand from Labelexpo visitors of the past years. The areas include: the Digital Printing Experience, the Converting and Finishing Pavilion, Gather on the Green and a newly enhanced Smart Label Zone. Each of these features will include the respective industry leaders, who will display the latest technological advances.

Brand new feature – the Digital Printing Experience
A major development for Labelexpo Americas 2008 – and the first ever introduction at any Labelexpo event – is the creation of the Digital Printing Experience in Hall F. This pavilion will have the leaders in digital printing – HP, Xeikon, Epson, Sun Chemical, EFI, Konica Minolta – showcasing the latest in digital technology. Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations and review case studies of recent digital projects.

Converting and Finishing Pavilion
Over 26% of label converters in North America also produce flexible packaging, so an area focusing on this sector is long-awaited for. Previous show figures indicate a 50% increase in attendance from flexible packaging and folding carton suppliers and more than half of the top 25 dedicated flexible packaging converters have already visited Labelexpo Americas in the past.

The Smart Label Zone is enlarged this year to gather the best examples of smart labels and the RFID technology suppliers. Here visitors will be able to see the emerging national and international trends in the RFID technology, anti-counterfeiting, brand protection and time/temperature indicators. Exhibitors in this special area of the show will include bielomatik, Melzer, Mühlbauer, Grillstone to name a few.

Gather on the Green was created to satisfy the requests from past shows’ visitors to see the latest developments in green and sustainable technology. In addition, the labeling industry is fully aware that it needs to stay abreast with all the changes in the legislation and, for this reason, the new Gather on the Green Pavilion have gathered suppliers who will demonstrate original materials they developed that help reduce the impact on the environment.

As previously, Labelexpo Americas 2008 will have a high-level conference, organized in collaboration with TLMI. The conference program will look at the current trends in both local and global markets highlighting areas for potential growth and development, covering security and brand protection, environmental issues and relevant legislation, managing in an uncertain economy, latest trends in technologies and the pressroom of the future.

Labelexpo Americas will also feature the prestigious Label Industry Global Awards, now in their fifth year. The awards recognize and celebrate excellence in printing and labeling. Representatives from the industry are invited to vote by the end of May for the winners online at www.labelawards.com. The winners’ names will be revealed at a gala dinner on the opening day of Labelexpo Americas.

Commenting on the upcoming show, Roger Pellow, Labelexpo Managing Director, said:
“Labelexpo Americas provides a unique forum for converters in this market to get together and learn about the latest technologies, and to explore new opportunities in the market. As a well-established show, we continuously look for ways to develop the event to satisfy both exhibitors’ aspirations and visitors’ needs. We are very pleased with the feedback we’ve had on these new floor additions and we look forward to another successful show this September.”
