Greenwich Letterpress Featured in Martha Stewart Weddings

Thursday 13. March 2008 - Since opening in 2006, Greenwich Letterpress, located in New York City at 39 Christopher Street, has become the premier wedding invitation letterpress printer in Manhattan. The business is women-owned by sisters Amy and Beth Salvini, who hail from a family of three generations of letterpress printers.

Their unique style has been featured in numerous national publications and Amy’s own wedding invitations were featured in the winter 2008 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings.

“It was wonderful to be recognized by one of the premier wedding publications in the country,” said Amy Salvini. Her sister Beth adds, “We have had our busiest wedding season since opening and many new clients have seen the article in Martha Stewart.” The invitations featured in the magazine were designed by Amy Salvini, who designs all of Greenwich Letterpress’s custom work.

Greenwich Letterpress operates a unique gift shop at the Christopher Street location that was named the number-one new entry in their category in the Zagat New York City Shopping Guide. Their location in the West Village and the recent publicity have made the store a favorite of locals, tourists and many celebrities who live in the area. In June of 2007 Greenwich Letterpress converted their facility to 100% wind power, eliminating their carbon footprint. Brides can now have their wedding invitations printed with no negative effect on the environment.

The company runs three vintage Heidelberg letterpresses that have been restored to produce artisanal printing on fine papers from around the globe.

Plans for 2008 include a line of custom cards and a letterpress wedding invitation book that will be available to select retailers throughout the country.
