JF 1631

Thursday 06. March 2008 - At Fespa Digital in Geneva (April 1-3, 2008) Mimaki’s versatile portfolio of different printers and cutters will enthuse visitors. The company offers solutions for every kind of inkjet printing for an extensive range of applications in various industries

Mimaki Engineering, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutting machines for the sign/graphics, textile/apparel and industrial markets, invites visitors to its stand (Booth J90) at Fespa Digital to experience and be inspired by its innovative and complete solutions for digital inkjet printing and cutting. Among the products on show visitors find the JF series UV-wide format flatbed printer and the recently launched CF3 1610 flatbed cutting plotter. Both devices are available in sizes of 1.6 x 3.1 m and 1.6 x 1 m, consequently printers can now print their large format jobs on up to 5 cm thick substrates and pair printed materials to a corresponding same size cutting plotter.

The new CF3 series cutting plotters can be equipped with three different exchangeable heads – router, tangential and reciprocal – in order to cut all kinds of materials and execute different types of cuts. Printed registration marks are automatically detected by a colour photo sensor to ensure accuracy. Advanced multi-zones vacuum bed technology, first introduced on the JF series printer, is also used on CF3 series. In combination they are the ideal print + cut solution for full service professional shops.

In addition to the new CF3 series visitors see the new best selling JV33 series and CG-FX series print and cut combo. Also the smaller sized G-60SL/SR desktop type cutting plotters are available for demonstrations. Mimaki’s cutting plotters are renowned for their exceptional accuracy as well as their multitude of functionalities. The photo-electric eye sensor for instance enables precise cuts around printed images. The cutting plotters will be demonstrated with the latest newly updated version of FineCut 7 software.

As mentioned, Mimaki’s best-selling and highly acclaimed large format printer, the JV33, shows its exceptional printing capabilities. Also outstanding samples of white under and over print can be seen at the booth. The white ink layer is applied concurrently with the other ink colours resulting in vivid and exceedingly brilliant images. Available as solvent, pigment and dye sublimation models the JV33 has been enthusiastically received by customers and their clients alike.

Samples printed on the recently launched dye-sublimation versions of the JV33 and the JV5 printed on various transfer materials are of interest to printers seeking entry level and productive solutions for high quality soft signage, flags, sportswear and various hard substrates, such as skies. Dye-sublimation printing does not require any after treatment. After printing on the transfer material with dye-sublimation ink, the image is applied to the substrate, by use of a heat press or calendar. The dye particles are thereby fused to the material where when dried they are wash fast and UV resistant. Visitors will see some astounding samples of dye-sublimation printing.

Best of its class and highly productive is the JV5 large format printer. The high end models feature Mimaki’s distinctive UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) which allows for unattended double printing time. This is achieved by two cartridges of the same colour which automatically switch from one to the other when required. In addition, high productivity of up to 58 sqm/h at 540 x 720 dpi and up to 13 sqm/h at high quality mode (720 x 1.440 dpi), enables printers to respond more readily to urgent job delivery demands from clients.

The UJF-family of printers completes Mimaki’s exhibits. The UJF-605CII enables UV printing on rigid materials up to 50 mm thickness, no matter the surface. This way golf balls, pens, buttons and other gift items as well as ceramics, tiles, wood, metal or plastic can be printed upon with 6 colours plus white and clear. With a resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi many industrial applications including markings, institutional signage, ad specialities and lots of other products stand out and deliver exceptional results.

In addition Mimaki presents its easy to use and enhanced new versions of RasterLink Pro III and Profile Master II. The new version of RasterLink Pro features super-smooth 16-bit rending, white layer print functionality and an ink cost calculation feature among others. Mimaki Profile Master II’s equalisation feature creates a consistent and highly accurate colour environment for all identical inkjet printers in a shop. It allows printers to quickly respond to bulk orders by clustering. The equalisation feature allows the use of several output devices simultaneously as it calibrates all printers to the same colour values thereby enhancing performance, productivity and accuracy at the same time.

“Mimaki’s comprehensive line up for diverse cutting and inkjet printing applications and their respective inks offers solutions for everybody’s needs and makes the company one of the most versatile players in the market place”, says Sakae Sagane, Managing Director Mimaki Europe. “They enable our customers to diversify their activities and be more successful.”
