Tuesday 04. March 2008 - M&H Plastics is delighted to have supported KMI in the launch of a unique new range of innovative personal cleansing products from KMI which are kinder to the planet, whilst not compromising on design and performance.

Patently Obvious is a brand new range of hand washes and foamers, shower gel and hand sanitisers from KMI, the company behind King of Shaves, Ted Baker Fine Fragrances and Fish Hair Styling. It is the first range of products that combines a SLES and paraben free environmentally-friendly biodegradable formulation, with natural ingredients, wrapped up in stunning contemporary eco-friendly packaging that you’d be proud to display in your home.

The packaging is manufactured from 100% PCR (Post Consumer Regrind) PET.
PCR is plastic products that have been recycled, which means they are ground down to be re-used in new manufacturing – in a past life they could easily have been fizzy drink bottles. Recycling can provide an efficient environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional disposal of materials to landfill. It can also conserve energy and non-renewable resources as recycling replaces the need for primary extraction and the manufacture of new plastics.

The packaging design was inspired by memories of school science lessons and based on the flasks, test tubes and bottles used by chemists – however, it is a slightly ironic take on the fact that the product itself is so natural.

M&H worked in partnership with KMI to produce this innovative new range with a remit of 100% recyclable material whilst being attractive for any kitchen or bathroom.

Shaun Catchpole, New Business Development Manager of M&H Plastics said:
‘As part of our Environmental Policy M&H Plastics has been working for some time on being able to bring to market a range of sustainable packaging solutions that can not only be manufactured in recyclable plastics, but also material that has been recovered from the waste stream, post consumer use. KMI has demonstrated that PCR packaging can look stunning whilst being kind to the environment.’

Andrew Hill, Managing Director of KMI said:
‘When we started developing this range we wanted to create natural, environmentally friendly cleansing products made and manufactured in the UK, with no compromise on performance or design.

Patently Obvious is available from Boots stores nationwide from March 2008 and online from June.
