Equipment demos spotlight xpedx on-press,
post-press offerings

At On Demand, xpedx Printing Technologies, the exclusive U.S. marketer and distributor of Ryobi-branded presses, is demonstrating the RYOBI 3404E-DI press, which offers the ability to produce 300-line screens with full, rich solids and makereadies in as little as 10 minutes. Direct imaging printing is an environmentally friendly print process because it does not require chemicals associated with traditional platemaking.

The RYOBI 3404 DI series of two-up size portrait format, four-color offset presses are best suited for print runs between 200 and 5,000 impressions. The presses produce high-quality offset printed pieces, have a digital workflow, are easy to use and can run light to heavyweight paper stocks. UV curing units are also available.

The C.P. Bourg BB3002 perfect binder will also be demonstrated during On Demand. It is automated with easy controls and features an ergonomic design. It binds books of varying thickness, includes a three-cylinder glue tank and maintains a user-friendly touch screen for increased productivity.

xpedx has announced that it is now a national distributor of the RSC-series offline coating systems from FMA Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of UV print technology. The distribution agreement enables xpedx to provide printers who prefer not to invest in inline coating with the ability to obtain the value-adding, profit-building capabilities of UV. FMA’s RSC-series of offline UV coating equipment supports any offset or digital printing platform.

xpedx representatives will be on hand to discuss the xpedx “pay-per-click” program that provides a digital press or production-rated color copier to credit-qualified printers-with little to no capital investment. Printers pay a small charge per impression or “click” only for the pieces produced. The program also provides printers with specialized variable data printing software.
