Hoping to Stay in the Race? FUJIFILM Puts Together Winning Team at ON DEMAND 2008

Monday 03. March 2008 - FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. will showcase its entire portfolio of solutions – as well as new equipment – for the digital printer when this year's ON DEMAND Conference & Expo takes places in Boston on March 3-6, 2008.

Along with partners Xerox Corporation, EFI, DesignMerge and Book Production Systems, FUJIFILM will demonstrate the very latest technologies and devices, as well as workflow solutions, for printers of all sizes.

During the show, Fujifilm will highlight the Xerox DocuColor 5000 digital color press, featuring ColorWorks 5000 document finisher. The DocuColor 5000 gives users razor-sharp printing and copying at speeds up to 50 pages per minute. The DocuColor 5000 digital color press boasts 2400 x 2400 dpi, along with automatic duplex printing from all paper trays, for media up to 80 lb. cover stock and with sizes up to 12.6″ x 19.2″. The device also features an optional secondary feeder, high capacity stacker, common stacker and scanner module.

Fujifilm will also demo Xerox’s DocuColor 8000AP digital press, which achieves 80 pages per minute and is in sync with the fast pace of business. The DocuColor 8000AP allows printers to accommodate faster turnarounds and to complete complex, mixed-media and variable information jobs. Fujifilm will also highlight a UV coater from Duplo, designed to offer a high quality glossy sheen as well as matte and satin finishes to offset and digitally printed documents.

Rounding out the booth exhibit is Xerox’s new 260 color copier/printer, a light production printer that makes color printing easy and affordable with outstanding image quality, a choice of print speeds, feeding capabilities and the ability to handle a wide range of media sizes and weights.

To accompany these devices, Fujifilm will also be showcase a number of software and workflow solutions, including EFI’s Digital Store Front, DesignMerge from Meadows Publishing Software and Book Production Systems.

To help printers customize the best digital printing solution, Fujifilm has built a team of specialists designed to assist customers with business planning and assessment, training services and sales support as well as other consultative services.

“While it’s important to choose the right equipment, it is just as important to choose the right solutions provider,” explains Phil Kane, Fujifilm’s vice president of digital printing. “Look for someone who can meet your needs now and in the future. Make sure that provider will be there for you as your business changes and grows.”

Fujifilm has more than 200 technical support specialists to help solve workflow and technical issues. Additionally, the company has a dedicated technical sales staff to help customers decide what equipment they need and the best method for implementing it.

In addition to the Xerox and workflow solutions, ON DEMAND attendees will also be able to see the latest offerings from Fujifilm’s wide format division, the Fujifilm Acuity HD 2504, in Booth #1048. Fujifilm’s Acuity HD 2504 is the latest breakthrough in wide format UV digital imaging technology and offers photographic-quality printing at speeds that provide a quick return on investment, all at an affordable price.

The Fujifilm Acuity HD 2504 features a new imaging technology that enables each print head to produce variable size droplets, as opposed to traditional fixed droplets. The printer’s ability to jet droplets as fine as 6 picoliter produces sharp, precise images with smoother transitions and quarter-tones, while jetting larger droplets (up to 30 picoliter) delivers denser, more uniform solid image areas.
