Xante Unveils New Digital Color Laser Press with Support for Ultra Heavy Stock up to 502 gsm

Friday 29. February 2008 - Ilumina 502 Delivers Short-Run Color Printing on Oversized, Ultra Thick Cover - for under $9,000

Announced today, the Ilumina 502 occupies a unique place in the market due to its ability to easily handle a wide range of paper weights, from text to ultra thick cover, 75 to 502 gsm. Priced at only $8,995, small to mid-sized print shops can now make money producing short run four-color jobs on a wide range of substrates previously unavailable for digital printing.

“The Ilumina 502 is designed to help print shops significantly expand their product offerings and profit from producing a wide range of short run, high-quality full color jobs, quickly and affordably. From business cards to packaging, the Ilumina produces full color output on a variety of heavy stock and oversized media. This eliminates minimum run-length issues and helps printers produce more jobs in-house,” says Xante CEO, Robert Ross.

Xante customers benefit from an expansive range of output capabilities, including premium four-color business cards, postcards, t-shirt transfers, labels, direct mail pieces and brochures to more specialized products such as packaging. Additionally, the Ilumina 502 digital press is capable of utilizing a wide range of special, and in demand, substrates including fiber-enhanced papers such as textured canvas, sleek metallic, cast coated, and magnetic stocks.

New Xante Myriad Magnetic digital media, a flexible, rubber magnet digital media, is specifically designed for short-run, full color printing on the Ilumina 502. Because it is not a paper-based material, Myriad Magnetic media is perfectly suited for outdoor applications such as magnetic signs on autos, decals, and promotional signs. The 0.05 mm thick material can also be used for promotional ideas on refrigerator magnets, magnetic photos, business cards and more. The magnetic media is available in letter, A4 and 13″ x 19″ sizes.

The Ilumina 502 is being featured at this week’s Graphics of the Americas (GOA) show, taking place February 28 through March 1 in Miami Beach, Florida; and also at drupa, taking place in Duesseldorf, Germany, May 29 to June 11.
