PraxisDialog 14: Raising the Quality of Newspaper Printing

What are the possibilities offered by heatset-coldset newspaper printing? What are the quality advantages that color-compliant simulation of print results provides for newspaper printers? The experts at PraxisDialog No 14 will provide answers to these questions.
Guest speaker Roland Thees, Research Engineer at IFRA, will talk about “Semi-Commercial – Newspapers and More” to illustrate the opportunities heatset-coldset newspaper printing has to offer. Florian Fejfar, Product Manager of PressProof, and Anton Smola, Manager of Project Engineering at MAN Roland, are to elaborate on the topics “Press Proofing” and “Newspaper Innovations”. UV technology in newspaper printing will also be addressed. The presentation by guest speaker Karlheinz Dürr concerning practical implementation of quality assurance within the Verlagsgruppe Passau is bound to be particularly interesting.
The practical part of the event will take place in MAN Rolands R&D department where the participants can see a live demonstration of color-compliant simulation of print results with PressProof TC (True Color) at the control console of a COLORMAN, XXL. It will also be explained how a Krause CtP system can contribute to raising quality. The practical part is to be rounded off with an inspection of the UV drying unit. After that the experts look forward to a lively exchange of views with the audience.
The PraxisDialog will take place in the MAN Museum, Heinrich-von-Buz-Straße 28, 86153 Augsburg on 28 February 2008 from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. Participants only need to pay for their travel costs.
