Inkjet & Digital Printing

Océ JetStream sold to first customer

Friday 08. February 2008 - Océ, a leading international printing and digital document management company with activities in more than 90 countries, has announced it has sold its first Océ JetStream 2200 system.

The Océ JetStream is a very high-speed, fully variable, color inkjet press that provides some of the most sophisticated digital printing capabilities available in the world. The printing system will enable the first customer, Direct Group (http://www.directgroup.net/) — a U.S.-based fully integrated direct marketing solutions provider – to support sophisticated direct marketing campaigns for a range of multi-channel clients.

New world standard in color printing
The Océ JetStream was introduced in the U.S. market on 4 December 2007 in Boca Raton, Florida. Two days later, it made its first European appearance at the VIP Leadership Event close to the German city of Munich. The launch of the Océ JetStream completes the refresh and expansion of the Océ continuous feed printing system. This printing system include the Océ ColorStream 10000, introduced in September 2007, and the Océ VarioStream 9000, 8000 and 7000 printing systems. Based on independent research, Océ is the market leader in the continuous feed sector worldwide: some 50% of all placements in the market segment are said to come from an Océ system.

Higher response rates
Major marketers are increasingly shifting to more highly personalized trigger mailings that generate significantly greater response rates than traditional direct marketing techniques. This is a consequence of rising postal rates and the resulting demand for greater campaign effectiveness. The Océ JetStream enables its customers to take advantage of this industry-wide shift.

The Océ JetStream: a sustainable competitive advantage
The Océ JetStream delivers a smaller foot print and economical use of ink with less waste. These features extend the Océ commitment to environmental sustainability to the very high volume color inkjet market. “Customers will benefit significantly from more extensive opportunities to produce higher-impact programs by combining our technology with strategic multi-channel communications,” said Mal Baboyian, President, Océ North America, Production Printing Systems.
