SLEEVES PUT WINNING DESIGNS IN THE PICTURE

Shrink sleeves from CCL Decorative Sleeves have been used for the first time on the Mir Vaiseille range of washing up liquids from Henkel France to promote the three winning entries in ‘Dessine Moi Mir’, a recent design competition held in partnership with The French Institute of Design.

Wednesday 06. February 2008 - Shrink sleeves from CCL Decorative Sleeves have been used for the first time on the Mir Vaiseille range of washing up liquids from Henkel France to promote the three winning entries in ‘Dessine Moi Mir’, a recent design competition held in partnership with The French Institute of Design.

‘Dessine Moi Mir’ is part of an extensive multi-media marketing campaign launched by Henkel to strengthen Mir’s position as one of France’s favourite brands in the laundry and home care market and to encourage further growth.

The limited edition packs have now been launched for sale in French supermarkets. Due to the distinctive shape of the Mir bottle, sleeves were the only way to provide 360º coverage and ensure each vibrant, full colour design achieves maximum impact.

Henkel France chose CCL Decorative Sleeves thanks to their long-standing working relationship and the company’s ability to meet the various technical challenges involved. CCL Decorative Sleeves worked closely with all parties to ensure smooth running of the project.

High shrink PET was selected for application to the distinctive Mir bottle, which is available in two sizes – 500ml for the Lime and Lemon Verbena and Clementine and Mint Leaves, and 750ml for the Orange and Green Tea varieties. The bottle shape also necessitated careful predistortion of both the Mir logo and the illustrations to ensure accurate positioning after shrinkage. The designs are gravure printed in 8 colours.

Of the 200 entries from design students across France, twelve were shortlisted to be voted for online by consumers. The competition was very successful with 10,000 votes received. .

As well as producing the sleeves for the winning designs, CCL Decorative Sleeves supplied digital proofs for all of the final twelve designs, for display in the Printemps du Design exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
