Trelleborg Appoints New Agent For Australia And New Zealand
Wednesday 23. January 2008 - Trelleborg Printing Blankets, which is the manufacturer of the industry leading Vulcan range of offset blankets, has appointed DS Chemport (Australia) Pty Ltd to handle all sales and technical support in Australia and New Zealand. The new deal came into effect on January 1st and is a natural progression for DS Chemport, which already represents the Vulcan brand throughout South East Asia.
As part of the arrangement, DS Chemport is investing more than A$ 1.8m in new 2,000 sq metre warehousing facilities in Melbourne and these will contain new blanket converting equipment. This will enable the company to take delivery of two metre wide blanket rolls direct from Trelleborgs Italian factory and convert them into formats suitable for the markets it serves.
“We dont take on new distributorships lightly and were very excited about the opportunities opened to us in Australia and New Zealand by the Trellebrog Vulcan range,” says chief executive Graham McKenzie. “We believe its the best blanket on the market and provides significant advantages to printers, whether they operate in the sheet-fed commercial, web offset or newspaper sectors.”
DS Chemport, a subsidiary of the Fujifilm Group, is a major producer of pressroom chemicals and is a leading reseller of consumables, ranging from adhesives for web offset presses to staples for saddle stitching machines. The company has its headquarters in Melbourne, with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
