Top Three Swedish Newspapers Join Together to Invest in Atex Solutions

January 2008 - Dagens Nyheter, Göteborgs-Posten and Sydsvenskan have signed a frame agreement with Atex for the supply of both advertising and circulation systems Atex solutions will help the three newspapers to expand their digital business by aggregating print, web and all other publishing channels

Atex, the world’s largest provider of mission-critical software solutions and services to the global media industry, announces that Dagens Nyheter, Göteborgs-Posten and Sydsvenskan, the top three morning newspapers in Sweden, have made a unique joint effort selecting an advertising solution from a single vendor. The parent corporations, Bonnier Dagstidningar and Stampen, have signed a frame agreement with Atex for both advertising and circulation systems. The first newspaper to go live with advertising during 2008 is Dagens Nyheter, followed by Göteborgs-Posten 2009 and Sydsvenskan 2010. Additional newspapers owned by the same corporations will follow.

We also feel confident we can achieve all possible requirements from advertisers in DN.se and other coming and existing channels. Lastly it is important for Dagens Nyheter to cooperate with Sydsvenskan and Göteborgs-Posten in order to simplify in cross selling.”

Lars Rundblom, CEO Göteborgs-Posten added, “To us it has been important to select a vendor we can have confidence in. It is extremely important to be in the front and have a system that supports our ideas and future selling in multiple channels. With a modern system we also achieve a greater flexibility and simplicity when adding new offerings.”
