John L R James & Co chooses the Printmaster PM 52-2

Wednesday 16. January 2008 - John L R James & Co is to take delivery of a Printmaster PM 52-2 with numbering and perforating in January. This B3 Heidelberg press will enable the trade printer to better serve its national customer base with forms and commercial stationery.

The press arrives only two months after the company installed a Shuttleworth Management Information System including 8 new terminals and server. These are two major investment decisions made managing director John Stone who took over the company following the retirement of previous owners Jason and Jahn James.

“We were looking for a press with high speeds and rapid make-ready including quick automated wash-ups for pantone colours, allowing us to still number and perforate on-line and this press fits the bill. It will help us continue to offer sustainable competitive prices coupled with the fast turnaround our customers require in this demanding market.” says Mr Stone.

“Having achieved our aim of even greater efficiency within the Sales Office with the installation of our new costing and estimating system which also streamlines proofing procedures and stock control we are now able to focus on maximising effectiveness within the production process.”

The additions coincide with a change of livery for the Skegness company. It has dropped its traditional brown style in favour of a crisp new dark blue and black image which will underline its renewed impetus in the marketplace.
