E. Hofmeier AG in Bottenwil: New Acoro A5 in Operation

Now that’s quality! – From left to right: Owner Erich Hofmeier with his wife Elisabeth, Müller Martini Sales Manager Richard Hofer, and Machine Operator Armin Triebel, Bruno Mondadori, and Ivan Gasser as well as daughter Sereina Hofmeier, trade binder, in front of the new Acoro A5.

Wednesday 16. January 2008 - "We stick up for you," says a mailing that E. Hofmeier AG in Bottenwil recently sent to its customers. With this, the family business doesn’t want to promise action but merely draw attention to its wide range of products. And in order to give customers an idea of the extraordinary binding quality, Hofmeier went ahead and included a set of sample brochures along with the mailing.

Hofmeier produces brochures of every type in different processes:
– EVA-hotmelt (the affordable and reliable standard solution)
– PUR-hotmelt (the strong solution for more challenging projects)
– Burst binding (the extra-strong solution for the most challenging projects)
– Softcover book with cover detached from spine (for especially easy opening; with hotmelt or PUR)
– Swiss Brochure (the deluxe solution; with hotmelt or PUR).

Acoro A5 for Controlled Top Quality
In order to broaden its capacities and also to continue to offer customers the highest of quality and flexibility, E. Hofmeier AG has invested in a brand-new adhesive binding line from Müller Martini. It consists of the Acoro A5 perfect binder, which with a run length of up to 5,000 cycles/hour is unparalleled worldwide in terms of flexibility and quality, the 3693-d rotary gatherer, and the Esprit three-knife trimmer. The line is equipped with the Asir 3 (Automatic Signature Image Recognition) automatic signature recognition system – a control system that guarantees E. Hofmeier AG will only deliver complete brochures without wrong or missing sheets.

The new Acoro line replaces a respectably aged Pony line in Bottenwil, which has dependably and indispensably served E. Hofmeier AG for more than 20 years. The high production reliability and good experiences that E. Hofmeier AG has had with Müller Martini technology and the good service have once again tipped the scale in favor of Müller Martini. In early December, the Acoro line was put into operation in the context of a small celebration within the company.

In addition to adhesive-bound products, E. Hofmeier AG also manufactures saddle-stitched products of every kind and of the highest quality – and mind you with four saddle stitchers from Müller Martini. And for individual boxes and packages made to measure, owner Erich Hofmeier recommends the subsidiary Hunziker AG, located in the same building, which his wife, Elisabeth Hofmeier, runs.
