OfficeMax Expands Its FSC-Certified Paper Product Offerings

Tuesday 15. January 2008 - OfficeMax(R) Incorporated (NYSE:OMX), a leader in office products and services, today announced that it is adding even more environmentally-preferable paper choices to its extensive paper product offerings.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2008, OfficeMax will offer its contract business customers additional Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper, adding Boise Paper FSC grades to the Mohawk Paper and Wausau Paper FSC grades already offered. The Boise FSC certified grades will include:

— Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) 50 Multi-use paper
— Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) 100 Multi-use paper
— Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) Laser paper
— Boise(R) ASPEN(TM) Color Copy paper
— Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Everyday Laser paper
— Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Premier Print paper
— Boise(R) HD:P(TM) Presentation Laser paper (available in 24#, 28# and
32#).

OfficeMax is proud of its accomplishments with environmentally responsible programs and products. In 2006, OfficeMax enacted a paper procurement policy to support the company’s environmental policy. OfficeMax is also the first office product retailer to provide an ink cartridge refill service, using a state-of-the-art computerized kiosk that analyzes the cartridge quality and print performance. OfficeMax recently issued its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report (available online at http://about.officemax.com/csr/) that provides both an account of the company’s accomplishments to-date and a benchmark for future progress in five key areas, including the environment.
