Konica Minolta Celebrates One Year of Offering Customized Print Shop Solutions with Production Services Group

Tuesday 15. January 2008 - Anniversary Highlights Success of Customized Solutions Provider as part of Konica Minolta Family

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced the one-year anniversary of its acquisition of the Production Services Group (PSG), an Akron, Ohio-based production print services provider. PSG, part of Konica Minolta’s Direct Sales Channel, offers premier production print services through expansion of its custom tailored print solution offerings.

PSG, which began in 1997 with a focus on providing the commercial print industry a service option for Xerox DocuTech and Kodak Digimaster products, was acquired by Konica Minolta in 2006, allowing it to bring to the market a full array of solutions that cover a wide scale of deployments.  With a primary focus on service, PSG guarantees customers receive the correct product mix for each specific organizational environment. In addition to placing its award-winning line of bizhub PRO production print systems, Konica Minolta has given PSG a wealth of corporate resources, enabling it to maximize the capabilities of its digital imaging systems and further expand its print services business.

“In the year since we’ve combined efforts, PSG has been able to have greater access to resources necessary to expand its market coverage, while also maintaining the close customer relationships they found to be critical in the production print marketplace,” said Jeff Fernandez, executive vice president, US direct sales, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. “One of the major benefits for Konica Minolta customers is the single service contract offerings that allow us to offer customer a dynamic portfolio of products and services, all from one servicing company.  We’re excited of the value PSG brings to Konica Minolta, and are looking forward to more success in the coming year.”

Konica Minolta also announced the U.S. expansion of PSG to further extend not only the customized PSG solution offerings, but also to further the continued market growth of the bizhub PRO production print systems. Customers stand to benefit even more as a result of this strategic move.

“Having everything under one umbrella saves us a lot of time and money,” said Todd Owens, owner of Superior Copies Inc., of Roselle, IL, a full-service digital print facility that contracts with PSG on a wide range of services. “Now we have one point of contact for all of our service requirements and the pricing is in line with other options. PSG has been very flexible in structuring a contract that meets our specific needs.”
