Colchester company invests in prepress with “green” in mind

Wednesday 02. January 2008 - Design & Print Integration in Colchester has just installed a Suprasetter A74 with Auto Load and will have its Prinect Prepress Interface link up and running in the new year.

The company, whose web site reminds visitors “just one earth” is making both these investments with the environment in mind.

The Suprasetter A74 AL will run Fuji Pro-T chemistry free plates to eliminate unnecessary use of chemistry and the creation of waste disposal. The Prepress Interface will cut its start up waste paper by ensuring fast and accurate presetting.

“The Suprasetter replaces a Trendsetter. We move from a semi-automatic hand-loaded device to an automatic machine. This will speed up production and minimise manning in the studio,” says managing director Phil Hammond.

“We have even upgraded our Speedmaster SM 74-6 so that there is a plate on demand feature allowing operators to call off plates at night without having to employ anyone in the studio for that shift.”

Design & Print Integration produces quality colour print, leaflets, business cards and folders in up to B2 format.

Its web site keeps the green theme strong: “We make it our business to keep our company green by minimising our carbon footprint and safeguarding the environment.”
