PIP Electrics Ltd embraces HP PageWide technology to drive speed and productivity

HP today announced that PIP Electrics has installed an HP PageWide XL 5000 Multifunction Printer plus online folder. The new printer replaces two of the companys existing ageing, slow and costly printers, and is expected to revolutionise the companys workflow in terms of speed and productivity.
Based in Basildon, Essex, PIP Electrics undertakes all aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering – either as a single-discipline principal contractor, or as a combined mechanical and electrical contractor, from initial design through to completion.
Before installing the new HP PageWide XL 5000 Printer plus online folder, the company was using two separate printing workflows – a toner-based printer for producing monochrome black and white pages, and an inkjet printer for printing colour pages – requiring a considerable amount of manual intervention from the team of CAD Designers. Firstly, colour pages had to be identified and separated from black and white pages. The colour pages then had to be manually folded and inserted in the correct order into the monochrome document set after the printing process.
This entire process was taking between twenty-five and thirty minutes per set, costing the company valuable time and money. With the introduction of the HP PageWide XL 5000 Printer plus online folder, the same task is now completed in one single workflow at a fraction of the time.
“We have seen a recent increase in the number of colour pages being printed, which was another key reason for our investment. The HP PageWide XL 5000 Printer provides fast and efficient monochrome and colour prints in a single device with up to 30 percent savings in total production costs.(1) The Multifunction Printer equips small- to medium-sized reprographic houses and enterprise central reprographic departments for mid-volume technical document production at speeds up to 14 D/A1-size prints per minute.
HP PageWide technology consists of more than 200,000 nozzles on a stationary print bar spanning the width of the page, enabling breakthrough printing speeds. Extended time between service station cycles also enables outstanding sustained productivity capacity.
