Inkjet & Digital Printing

Cost-efficient printing of blister foil

Friday 12. August 2016 - The innovative DIGILINE Blister inkjet printing system offers significant benefits compared with formerly predominant flexo printing or storing of pre-printed films, especially with small and medium batch sizes.

The DIGILINE Blister allows users to minimize setup times and operating costs while delivering superior print quality with small or Asian fonts in particular.
The DIGILINE Blister is available in three different versions: inline, nearline and offline.

Variable printing on blister foil is now being made more flexible and affordable at a superior print quality – especially for small and medium batch sizes. At this year’s FachPack exhibition, Atlantic Zeiser (Hall 3, Booth 415) will showcase an offline version of the DIGILINE Blister printing system. Unlike flexographic technology which formerly predominated in the field of blister printing, the new system is based on digital high-quality, low-maintenance inkjet technology with high-performance UV inks. Valuable setup time is thereby reduced – changing jobs with flexo printing systems takes considerably longer. Users can therefore also significantly lower recurring and non-recurring material costs – e.g. for consumables such as printing mats and previously required UV-C lamps with limited lifetime.

High resolution
Users no longer need to accept compromises as regards print quality. DIGILINE Blister is capable of faithfully reproducing even Asian fonts thanks to a native PDF resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and an original PDF RIP process. Furthermore, the quantity of ink applied can be adapted to suit the requirements of the foil. The service life of the UV-A LED technology used for drying the ink is around ten times longer than that of the UV-C lamps utilized in flexography.

As an all-in-one system, DIGILINE Blister offers additional benefits: users need neither separate software nor an external PC for uploading images or codes to the system. The omission of critical interfaces simplifies both integration and operation. Moreover, DIGILINE Blister is compatible with Atlantic Zeiser’s serialization software MEDTRACKER which also serves as a complete production management platform.
