LumeJet’s Print Quality Assists Sales of Great War Centenary Photobook

Thursday 21. July 2016 - Renowned landscape photographer James Kerr has produced a stunning illustrated book "Silent Landscape" about the countryside upon which the Great War between 1914-1918 was fought, relentlessly, over a narrow ribbon stretching across Northern Europe.

The war took a terrible human toll, its most enduring legacy. But the landscape suffered as well, and while it has mostly recovered, the scars that remain are a reminder of how it was affected.
Towns and villages have mostly been rebuilt, farming has returned, forests and woods re-grown. But the indelible evidence remains and on a scale that is almost unprecedented in the history of warfare.

James’ book captures some of the haunting and evocative images of the Western Front landscape as it is now, using present-day photography. It focuses on the wider context, the physical sweep of a landscape irrevocably changed by events that took place 100 years ago.
James utilised LumeJet’s ultra high resolution landscape prints and panoramas for the launch event and exhibition at the Little Buckland Gallery of Contemporary Art in Worcestershire, bringing to life the exquisite detail and atmosphere of his photography and also opting to have them box mounted in order to further increase their unique visual impact.
The box mounted wall hung prints were much admired and received a great deal of positive praise and comments, resulting in a significantly increased number of book sales of the Silent Landscape both during and after the launch event.
