X-Rite eXact with Scan Option Recipient of Prestigious InterTech Technology Award

Friday 04. September 2015 - Judges cite eXact's color measurement innovations, flexibility and ease of use

X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, today announced that the X-Rite eXact spectrophotometer with Scan Option was the recipient of the 2015 Printing Industries of America InterTech Technology Award for Innovative Excellence. Since 1978, the InterTech Technology Awards have honored the development of technologies predicted to have a major impact on the graphic arts and related industries.

The X-Rite eXact spectrophotometer with Scan Option is a next generation handheld color measurement solution that enables printers and packaging converters to truly understand, control, manage and communicate color across the entire color workflow, avoiding reprints and rework.

“In a thorough evaluation process, the judges noted several important innovations in the X-Rite eXact with Scan Option,” said Dr. Mark Bohan, Vice President of Technology and Research for the Printing Industries of America. “This included its flexibility in allowing accurate measurements when no track scanning is possible, especially important in many packaging applications; the full extent of supported M-Series measurements as specified in ISO 3664, allowing for predictable results when optical brightening agents and fluorescent materials are involved; and the speed with which color measurement can be achieved in the pressroom.”
