Two meetings by ACIMGA-Largo Consumo on flexible packaging and cardboard converting displays for points of sale during Converflex

Wednesday 01. April 2015 - The benefits of flexible packaging for food products and innovative converting solutions to enliven points of sale are two of the topics stimulating the most ideas and solutions thanks to technological advancement.

Two specific meetings during Converflex 2015, promoted by ACIMGA (the Italian manufacturers association of machinery for the graphic, converting and paper industry) in media partnership with Largo Consumo will serve as discussion grounds for all players in the production chain: packaging and printing solution providers, experts and end user companies.
The first event focuses on “Flexible packaging: convenient, safe and… What the food industry calls for, with solution providers have to offer” (May 20th, Innovation Corner, Hall 2/4) and discusses the increasing spread of this packaging method – its versatility enables is to be used in the food industry to ensure increased convenience and safety. Today end users expect technology to produce increasingly eco-friendly, lightweight solutions without sacrificing product protection. There are very interesting developments: with the growth of private labels, large-scale retailers have become end users in their own right with specific needs both in terms of impactful graphics and package safety. In addition, there is increasing discussion among players of the production chain to seize the opportunity to meet the needs of a large part of the world’s population who do not consume packaged products, especially in emerging countries.
The second event is the workshop titled “In-store promo: converting serving POS” (May 21st, Innovation Corner, Hall 2/4) placing the limelight on the latest technology for consumer presentation, particularly off-shelf promotions. Cardboard converting displays have become a crucial support for brands to drive sales volumes by increasing visibility, reinforcing identity and ensuring volume turnover. What do companies ask for? Easy assembly, technical resistance and powerful visual impact – which can be achieved only through full cooperation between the creative agency and the printing technology and material supplier, in agreement with the client.
Both meetings will be moderated by Largo Consumo journalist Armando Garosci.
Converflex, taking place in Hall 2 at Fieramilano – at the heart of IPACK-IMA’s exhibition area, in a central position by the subway stop and logistically close to the EXPO 2015 grounds – since 1981 is first show dedicated to converting technology (converting-package printing-labelling) setting the trend on a global scale. During the event from May 19th to 23rd, Converflex will present the latest technological news in a context of unparalleled liveliness; its product and service display is in close synergy with events including IPACK-IMA, Dairytech, Meat-Tech, Fruit Innovation and Intralogistica Italia, for which package printing is an important common denominator attracting a great deal of interest.
