Hanover Fair 2015: 3D Printing for Industrial Use

Wednesday 17. December 2014 - The Additive Manufacturing Association within VDMA will participate actively at the Additive Manufacturing Plaza of the Hanover Industrial Fair from April 13th to 17th, 2015.

Since founding the Additive Manufacturing Association within VDMA, the mechanical engineers’ interest in industrial use of 3D printing technologies has become palpable: only six months after its foundation, the Association counts more than 60 members recruiting from the fields of mechanical engineering, suppliers, contractors, and research. Procedure know-how, practical experience with components, and many ideas for using this exciting technology come together. There is high potential in layer manufacturing waiting to be exploited. This is the Association’s goal within VDMA.
The Additive Manufacturing Plaza at the Hanover Industrial Fair shows: Additive Manufacturing (AM) is suitable for industrial use, and it is by no means a privilege for fields like aerospace and medical technology! Rainer Gebhardt, project manager at the Additive Manufacturing Association within VDMA, states: “Respectable mechanical engineering companies have discovered layer manufacturing, and they employ these technologies successfully in complicated applications: tools, gripping systems, and many others. We need to carry these success stories into mechanical engineering! The industry acknowledges those possibilities and challenges, which can be seen in big and experienced plant engineers taking AM technologies into their portfolio. At the Hanover Industrial Fair, the Additive Manufacturing Association within VDMA will represent and empower the network.”
