News Limited begins rollout of Australian titles with Méthode.

Friday 17. May 2013 - The first of the Australian media group's 160+ titles has gone live, just nine months after adopting EidosMedia's new-generation publishing platform.

Australian publishing group News Limited (NL) has begun production of its extensive newspaper and magazine portfolio using EidosMedia’s multiple-channel publishing platform Méthode. The first title to enter production with the new system is The Mount Druitt Standard, a community newspaper serving western Sydney.
The move to Méthode, which also involves a substantial geographical reorganization of NL’s activities, will bring all of the group’s titles, numbering over 160, onto a common platform based in Sydney, replacing the multiple systems and solutions previously used to publish the portfolio. Mèthode’s multiple-channel capabilities will allow all publication channels – print, Web, tablet and mobile – to be driven by a common workflow. It will also facilitate content sharing between different publications.
An important role in the new solution is played by Méthode News Planning, a topic-based workspace for planning and coordinating news flows in multimedia newsrooms. All of the group’s titles will use News Planning to manage and track news production from initial ideas to final publication.
“This is just the beginning of what will be one of the world’s largest integrated news publishing operations,” said Lodovico de Briganti, general manager of EidosMedia Pty Ltd. “In spite of the scale and complexity of the project, we are making very good progress thanks to the excellent teamwork between EidosMedia and NL staff.”
The implementation at NL’s Sydney headquarters is managed by EidosMedia’s local office supported by an international team drawn from the EidosMedia organization worldwide.
Rollout will continue over the coming weeks, with NL’s community papers being the first to go live, followed by the large metro dailies and the group’s national titles.
