Cross Folder AFC-746F

Monday 16. November 2009 - Horizon`s cross folder AFC-746F (74 cm infeed width) with 240 meters per minute sets a new world record for combination folding machine speeds.

Roller gap setting is automated like on the Horizon machines AF-566F and AFC-566F. The operator needs to put one sheet under one calliper only. All adjustments are done by the machine. This is the most reliable system in the market. Fine adjustments can be done easily on the calliper scale for all roller gaps together, or on the screen for one roller gap on both sides, or one roller gap on one side only. These settings can be saved for future use in the 200-jobs-memory.
After the fool-proof set-up, all parts move to their positions automatically: suction head, laser positioner on the feeding table, register guide and the belt on the opposite side, all buckle stoppers, side guides, stoppers and transport belts on the knife fold section.
The register guide adjustment is the same as on AFC-566F. When the fold line is shifted parallel to the feeding direction fine tuning the register guide can be done from the screen. Knife guide positions (front and rear) will follow. This time-saving principle is unique and patented by Horizon.
The folding unit under the first knife can be conveniently moved to a comfortable working position for adjusting the scoring tools.
Another innovation is that the perforation shaft pair after the buckle can be drawn out. This provides very good, easy visible access for adjusting the tools in an ergonomic working height. Changeover times can be reduced drastically.
Horizon tries hard to reduce power consumption in order to protect the environment and to reduce operating cost. AFC-746F needs just 4.6 kW and no compressed air, only half of our competitor`s machines demand.
