Automatically better

Friday 16. May 2008 - Innovative features for large formats / Half format especially efficient: new buckle folding machines / Clever: ejection of wasted sheets after the parallel fold / Service by mouse click: remote maintenance presented for the first time

“Speed up your business” – under this motto MBO, the lead-ing specialist for folding technology, will present a number of novelties and optimized solutions at drupa 2008 which pro-vide the user with a considerable efficiency potential (hall 6, booth B11, and hall 16, booth D75). For instance, large formats can be processed even better and faster in the fu-ture. As for the half format, with its two new buckle folding machines, MBO is currently establishing benchmarks in terms of economic efficiency. Another highlight of the show is the remote maintenance service RAS which will be show-cased for folding machines for the first time, reducing down times and service costs.

Advantages XXL
For the large format which is becoming more and more important in printing, MBO has further developed the al-ready successful buckle folding machine T 1420 Perfec-tion, thus having extended their lead in this format class. Misprinted sheets which have been color marked on the printing machine, can now be automatically detected and ejected during the folding process – an advantage that is only offered by MBO for this format. For the Mabeg feeders M6/1650 and M6/2050 an automation package is now available making the readjustment of not optimally packed palettes, i.e. the stopping the entire production line, dis-pensible.

Unique touch screen
The two new half format machines score with mature folding technology and the economic advantages of the Efficiency series. Thanks to its good cost/performance ratio, the T 535 Efficiency is for instance an interesting solution for high print runs. It is however also suitable for binderies which are not working at full capacity in this area. The new T 535 Efficiency Automatic is the ideal folding machine for frequently changing jobs and small print runs. Its 15″ color touch screen is unique in this price class.

Better ejection
Even more production safety is provided by the ejection of misfolded sheets after the parallel fold, which MBO pre-sents for the buckle folding machines T 800 Perfection and T 960 Perfection.

More consistent, more reliable, thus providing more safety – that’s how the new feeder head Vaculift III works, which is now installed as a standard equipment on all high pallet-ized feeders (FP 120 und FP 110). Equipped with four pre-blowers, it comes with clearly more adjustment options than the previous model.

Maintenance from afar
The new remote access service RAS, a maintenance tool from MBO helps saving time and reducing costs. At drupa, the folding specialist will for the first time publicly present the options of this tool, which has been successfully in use by selected customers for one year.

On the booths of leading digital printing specialists such as HP (hall 8a, booth B26) and Océ (hall 6, booth A44), MBO also presents high-performance modules for the complete inline production of products in the newspaper format.
