Lexon Group thinking about the box with Highcon Euclid IIIS
Monday 08. May 2017 - Lexon Group of Newport, South Wales, recently installed one of the first Highcon Euclid IIIS digital cutting and creasing machines in Europe. The 40 year old print service provider specializes in delivering the unusual, the difficult and the unique, super-fast, and sees the adoption of digital cutting and creasing as a strategic leap forward.
Lexon Group produces a wide variety of applications: special packaging, unique products, popups, presentation packs alongside “day to day print work”, and constantly strives to come up with highly innovative solutions to meet their customers’ needs. Under the slogan “Thinking About the Box” they will be introducing the capabilities of the Highcon Euclid IIIS at special Highcon Open Days to be held on May 17th-18th, 2017.
According to Garth Davis, Group Managing Director: “At Lexon we push the boundaries of production, and have specialized in producing complicated print projects within highly pressured deadlines. When we saw the Highcon technology at drupa 2016, we immediately saw the potential of adding this game-changing machine to our in-house capabilities. We are great believers in doing everything ourselves, to ensure the most rapid turnaround possible for our customers. Our goal is to produce a creative packaging solution that’s perfect for our customers.”
The Highcon Euclid IIIS digital cutting and creasing machine integrates seamlessly into existing B2 / 29in. sheet size workflow at a speed of 2,000 sheets an hour. This third generation machine improves supply chain responsiveness, enabling rapid turnaround time and on-demand digital finishing. By eliminating the tooling and setup of conventional dies, Highcon customers are developing and producing a wide range of new, high value applications that differentiate them and give them a competitive edge.
Jens-Henrik Osmundsen, Highcon VP Global Sales said: “Lexon joins the ranks of our third generation Euclid customers who understood the potential of this technology at drupa 2016. These print service providers constantly extend the vision of what is possible without confining themselves to specific applications and segments. We see them growing quickly with the Euclid while partnering with Highcon to provide ideas that further enhance the technology. Lexon have proven their ability to produce extraordinary applications immediately after installation, which bodes well for the future success of both Highcon and Lexon.”
