The Print Show shifts up a gear as signings mount up for 2017

Friday 24. March 2017 - B&R Moll, Exel Printing Machinery, Kluge International, Tharstern, The Magic Touch and Bluprint UK amongst latest signings

A group of companies have cited their success at previous editions of The Print Show as their main reasons for signing up to exhibit again at this year’s event.

Taking place from October 11th to 13th at the International Centre in Telford, The Print Show 2017 promises to be bigger and better than ever. While a number of major companies will be exhibiting for the first time, a host of brands that were in attendance last year will also be returning.

Amongst those to have confirmed their commitment to the show this year are B&R Moll, Exel Printing Machinery, Kluge International, Tharstern, The Magic Touch and Bluprint UK.

B&R Moll is known across the industry for its wide range of finishing solutions, such as the Versa-Fold Regal Folder Gluer, which has a maximum linear speed of 130m/min and can handle products in sizes up to 762mm x 762mm.

Exel Printing Machinery is one of the leading suppliers of used printing kit in the UK and stocks technology from a number of major brands, such as Heidelberg, MBO, Ricoh and Polar. Both B&R Moll and Exel plan to print heavy equipment to the show in October.

Bill Jones, managing director of Exel, said that the company enjoyed the “buzz” of last year’s event and is hoping for similar response from visitors in October.

“This will be our third year at The Print Show and following the good attendance and buzz last year, we have decided to continue this year, especially with the addition of the Used Machinery Area which is great for our sector of the industry,” Jones said.

“We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this young show last year and look forward to it growing again this year. It was good to catch up with both new & old clients. We hope by having the addition of the new used machinery area at The Print Show in line with other major shows, it differentiates us from the manufacturers and new equipment suppliers and allows visitors to explore their used machinery options more readily.”

Kluge International, a supplier of various kit for the finishing process, will return to the event after a successful appearance last year. Thomas Anderson, managing director of Kluge International and Eagle Europe, said that the show has proved to be a useful place to meet with customers and discuss the latest innovations at the company.

“We have exhibited at The Print Show for the last two years and have found it a good place to meet new potential customers, as well as to catch up with our existing Kluge users,” Anderson says, adding: “The show is of a size that allows us to dedicate time to our clients.

“We are, again, planning to have a Kluge EHD Foil Stamping, Embossing and Die Cutting platen press running in the Traditional Print Masterclasses area, to showcase the capabilities of our small-format press and what it can do for trade finishers, digital printers, as well as in a general commercial print environment.”

Meanwhile, Amanda Newman, marketing manager of management information (MIS) systems provider Tharstern, revealed that the firm will build on its success at the show last year by using the 2017 event to showcase its latest solution.

Newman said: “Last year’s show was really successful for us and we got lots of visitors to our stand to talk about our MIS. We got to catch up with customers and show them our new modules and we also got to speak to new people too.

“We’re using The Print Show 2017 to demonstrate our latest software release, Tharstern V6, which we’ll be releasing details of soon.”

Elsewhere, Jim Nicol, managing director of The Magic Touch, also paid tribute to the company’s success at last year’s event, adding that plans are in place to show off a host of new and unique applications at the International Centre.

Nicol said: “The bottom line on the show is simple; we had such a good response within the Printer’s Bazaar section last year—which we will do again this year—but we also wanted to show how our affordable transfer technology is proving the perfect add-on to any print business.

“With 25 years’ of experience, having pioneered the image transfer process, the plan is to show print companies to understand the benefits of having better contact with existing and future customers by using targeted personalised products, which has always created a positive reaction from the recipients. This is creative and pro-active marketing, which, in our opinion, is better value than any cost per click.

“We will have a host of new an unique applications planned for the show.”

Robb Harman, managing director of Bluprint UK, also had positive things to say about his company’s experience at the show “There is a buzz and innovative drive within the UK printing world that we love being a part of and The Print Show exudes that through their fantastic team.

“We found last year that The Print Show gave growing opportunity to continue relationships, and network, with other key players in the UK print industry in an active environment.

“We hope to meet old friends and make new ones; finding like-minded people or understanding the barriers to quality printing is invaluable in business. While also aiming to inform and educate the industry on AMS Spectal UV, the best entry level series to Retrofit five- or six-colour presses with LED UV curing.”
