MEAT-TECH 2018: the views of the companies

Friday 24. February 2017 - The first meeting of the MEAT-TECH 2018 Strategic Policy Committee was strongly attended. Leading companies from the exhibition’s target sectors took part, including producers of processing and packaging technologies, ingredients, equipment, materials for the meat industry, trade associations and producers of cold cuts and fresh meat. The Committee’s goal was to jointly plan the event together with the organisers.

The aim of the Strategic Policy Committee of MEAT-TECH 2018, the exhibition organised by IPACK-IMA as part of The Innovation Alliance to be held from 29 May to 1 June 2018 at Fiera Milano, was to organise an event capable of meeting the needs of the meat and fish processing and marketing industry.

The working group was set up on 15 February and agreed on the strategies of the exhibition, which aims to establish itself as a unique national and international point of reference for the sector.

Thanks to the joint scheduling with the other events in the Innovation Alliance, buyers will be able to explore a wide range of technological solutions spanning production, materials, packaging, ingredients, complementary products, secondary packaging systems, labelling and logistics. The show occupies a space of 140,000 square metres in 18 halls in the Milan exhibition centre.

The members of the Committee also agreed on the activities and countries on which to concentrate the show’s promotional efforts. These will include participation by MEAT-TECH and IPACK-IMA in 43 exhibitions, a communication campaign extending across 120 magazines and websites, partnerships with 300 international associations, intense activity on social media and sales networks and direct promotion in 40 countries worldwide.

The committee also began planning events and new exhibition sections capable of attracting the attention of Italian and international buyers. This includes the important themes of the refrigeration chain and innovative equipment, which are clearly of interest to both industry and retail.
